Read: 1 Corinthians 1:18-19
We can discover facts, but implementing those facts in a godly manner requires wisdom. The Bible tells us in many places that the beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord. Atheists celebrate our amazing discoveries and technologies as if there is nothing we cannot eventually achieve. Who needs a God?
Yet 1 Corinthians 1: 25 tells us, “For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”
God must shake His head in sorrow when His children celebrate their intelligence upon discovering another one of his wonders, rather than drop to their knees in adoration. “It took you 2500 years to discover what I thought into existence in one second, and you do not worship Me?”
We’re doing so well, aren’t we? We can cripple a nation with one cyber-attack. Nuclear warheads threaten every nation, and many fear artificial intelligence could outstrip the brains of its creators. It seems we’re great with facts, but not so much with wisdom.
Instead, we should turn to the wisdom of the Cross, where Christ sacrificed His life for our salvation—something no amount of facts or wisdom on our part could achieve. And before His death, Jesus taught us God’s wisdom: to love, obey, and adore the Creator (not the created), and to love others as ourselves.
Within that paradigm, we would care for the well-being of all people, even those in other parts of the world. There would be no cyber or nuclear threats anywhere. We would use our minds to love and serve Him, so all our achievements would glorify the Master Creator.
Lord, grant us humility so that we can use all our accomplishments for your glory and the well-being of your creation and its creatures. Let us praise You daily for Your divine nature that showers so much love upon us.
